Illinois- Job Placement Without Residency

Effective January 2025, Illinois allows IMGs to practice under provisional licensure if they have completed USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3. After working under supervision for two years, they can transition to full licensure.

Requirements

  • ECFMG certification
  • Pass USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3
  • Evidence of a valid, unencumbered foreign license
  • Supervision: Required for 2 years
