  • Provides a practical understanding of the methods involved in conducting research and publishing findings.
  • Takes you through the real journey of importance of each type of research and publications that add value to literature.
  • Process of publication – in brief. Why is it difficult to publish? Why is such a long time required? What is peer review? Why do journals charge fee? How to identify predatory journals and avoid publication in them. Make your research visible to other researchers.

Research Course B
Web-based cross-sectional research study
Pre-requisites:​
  • Completion of Research A
This course includes: ​
  • ​Web-based cross-sectional research study to write an original research article.
  • Virtual live or pre-recorded sessions
  • Duration: 2-3 weeks (data collection, statistical analysis, writing article)
  • Publication time varies depending on journal’s peer-review process.

​Kindly note: Article publication charges (APC) are not included in the course fees. If needed, students in the group will divide and pay APC.

Que: How frequently is this held?
Ans: Every 2 weeks, TGRP will release calls for authorship.
  • These will be based on various specialities – Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastro, Endocrinology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Surgery, ObGyn, Radiology, etc. Minimum 4 students are required to start a group.
  • Topics will be provided beforehand by the mentor

Que: How can I join?
Ans: Select the course on website, click on enroll and register 
  • Fill Google form and select your desired specialties
  • Fill in terms and condition form
  • After registration here – you will receive confirmation via email.

Que: What happens after registration?
Ans: You will follow the following process
  • You will be added to Whatsapp / Telegram group
  • All members will introduce themselves.
  • Rules will be posted on the group
  • Your details and signature will be taken by research coordinator
  • 1st pre-recorded video / live session to explain data collection process. And distribution of task. Deadline 3-5 days.
  • Data is then sent for statistical analysis.
  • 2nd pre-recorded video / live session on interpretation of data and article writing: task is divided. Deadline 3-5 days.
  • Article is then sent for editing
  • 3rd pre-recorded video is provided on preparation of manuscript and article submission process
  • Article and manuscript are prepared. Journal for publication is decided in the group and manuscript is sent for publication. 
Research Course C
Letter to Editor/ ViewPoint
Pre-requisites:​
  • Completion of Course A
This course includes: ​
  • ​Letter to editor or Viewpoint are short 500-750 words article, which can be written in a short time. Integrating it with the latest technology can enable you to easily get you article in a good journal.
  • ChatGPT is a recently launched AI bot, with an advantage that it can perform human functions, but has ethical concerns as well.​
​This session will cover:
  • Introduction to ChatGPT, ChatSonic and bard.
  • How to design a letter to editor/viewpoint
  • How to write a simple article in your area of interest.
  • List of journals for publication

​Bonus: Learn the mentor's ideas about this new AI software and write it in your own words. Tips and tricks (secrets) to get it published in high impact journal
What to expect?​
  • After registration, one-hour pre-recorded video is provided
  • Students should come up with their own topic and reach out to us on WhatsApp.
  • After approval of the topic, students should write their own letter as per instructions in the video and send it to us.
  • Article will be edited & corrected.
  • A pre-recorded video is provided on preparation of manuscript and article submission process
  • Journal is decided. And article is submitted to journal for publication.

Que: Are publication charges included in Course Fee?
Ans: Publication charges are not included in Course Fee.

Que: Is mentor name is added in the project?
Ans: Mentor’s name is not added, unless necessary.

Que: Which authorship I will get? 
Ans: Authorship is based on 1st come 1st served basis & completion of task allotted. If task is not completed on time, authorship order can change.

Que: What is the duration of article completion and publication?
Ans: Duration for completion of article is 2-3 weeks and Duration for publication: 2 weeks to 6 months

Que: Do you help with publication?
Ans: Journal is decided by the students. List of free journals with all indexation is provided. Students can decide where to submit. We give full support regarding publication.

Que: In which journal can we publish?
Ans:  We always aim to publish in PubMed indexed journals with no article processing charges (APC). However, due to longer peer-review process of such journals, students can mutually decide in the group to submit in journals indexed with Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ with or without APC. 

Que: Will these research help me in match process ? Will this be published by September ?
Ans: All types of research are valuable - it reflects that you have basic understanding about research & publication process. We will definitely try our best to submit and publish by September - before submission of ERAS application. However, in case the article is submitted and still under peer-review process - you can mention this in the “Submitted” section of ERAS application and even this definitely adds value to your CV.
